She's such a kindly neighbor-
I'm so glad to have her near,
To feel her welcome handclasp
And hear her words of cheer.
In times of joy and sorrow,
She's hurried down my lane
To share my dreams and troubles
In sunshine or in rain.
She's always been so helpful,
Shared household chores with me,
Strung beans, cracked nuts, washed dishes,
As we talked pleasantly.
She's done so may kind deeds,
Brought fresh-baked breads or cake,
And any errand needed,
She's gladly undertake.
She's been a source of pleasure
Throughout the years to me.
I'm grateful for my dear friend-
She's been so good and neighborly.
